The CYMASS Security Conference 2018
10-11 April, 2018 Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Following the success of CYMASS launch in 2017 based on the forward thinking of Emirates Group Security and Austability key stakeholders, the most prominent industry briefing and think tank returned to assist the industry in closing the venerable gaps between Cyber World and Securing places of Mass Gathering (CYMASS).
CYMASS 2018 gathered a select number of senior-level decision-makers representing sectors including but not limited to:

- Safety
- Security
- Crisis management

AVSEC Global 2017
8–10 October 2017
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum President of Dubai Aviation Civil Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, Emirates Group Security held the 3nd biennial AVSEC Global Symposium & Awards on October 8-10, 2017, in Dubai. A three days Event that included an impressive speakers line up, a Hijack exercise as well as workshops on cyber security and inflight restraint.
More than 600 delegates, VIPs, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and staff gathered at Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference centre. This successful event addressed a wide variety of global security issues, explored some of the industry’s most challenges and provided a networking forum for the attendees in a professional, comfortable environment.

Media Response Workshop
26–27 February, 2017
Participants learnt how to manage potential crisis and hijacking situations from experts in the industry. We also introduced a new two-day Media Response Workshop, where Participants learnt learn how to approach TV interviews, social media and more, following an incident.
The workshops were organised by Emirates Group Security and certified by Edith Cowan University, Western Australia.
Media response is an integral part of any crisis management plan.
The workshops were taught and run by award-winning media experts and seasoned practitioners. Workshops covered:
- strategy and planning for responses to media when security situations arise
- why you need to manage your response rather than trying to control the media
- how to protect your organisational and personal reputations
- giving advice to senior management and stakeholders on media issues from a security perspective

Crisis Management Workshop
25 February, 2017
Learn how to manage potential crisis and hijacking situations from experts in the industry.
The workshop was organised by Emirates Group Security and certified by Edith Cowan University, Western Australia.
Crisis Management Workshop is the unique one-day event brings together highly-qualified speakers with unrivalled knowledge and experience in crisis management.
Throughout the day participants had the opportunity to learn from people who have experienced real-life incidents; including hijacks and aviation accidents.
The workshop explored human factors and the regulatory perspective from ICAO. Participants took part in a live hijack exercise in one of our state-of-the-art emergency evacuation simulators.

The CYMASS 2017 Security Conference
21–22 February, 2017
In February 2017, Emirates Group Security and Austability hosted the inaugural CYMASS conference. This was a unique event that focused on the maximisation of safety for places of mass gathering - with key attention being given to how the online space will affect such large-scale events.
The CYMASS 2017 gathered a select number of senior-level decision-makers representing Middle East sectors; including safety, security, crisis management and operational risk; as well as aviation, public transport, and industries catering to places of mass gatherings.
The event had an exciting line-up of international subject matter experts addressing topics such as:
- The grave cost of disruptions caused at mass gatherings through cyber-attack.
- The latest developments in perimeter surveillance through detection software and hardware.
- Securing mass transportation venues.
- Disaster prevention, emergency readiness, response and recovery in our most popular tourist hotspots.

Crisis Management & Hijack Workshop
30 April – 1 May 2016
Emirates Group Security ran an outstanding interactive two-day crisis management & Hijack workshop for security industry professionals and group staff on the 30th of April and 1st of May 2016 At the Emirates Aviation College.
Over 70 Delegates and security professionals from around the world attended the workshop and shared practical knowledge and training on how to manage potential hijacking and crisis situations and they experienced a simulated hijack exercise.
