Aviation Security Professional Management Course (AVSEC PMC)

DUBAI: Around 22 aviation industry professionals from 15 countries celebrated their graduation for successfully completing the Aviation Security Professional Management (AVSEC PM) course at the Emirates Aviation College (CTC)

Organised by Emirates Group Security (EGS), the programme was held over two phases – from 4th to 8th December and from 26th to 1st March. The course was accredited by the International Civil Aviation Authority for Aviation Security Professionals, in collaboration with EGS’s Centre of Aviation and Security Studies (CASS), Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

“The AVSEC PM course is an excellent example of high-quality management training which has been tailor-made for professionals working in the aviation industry. It has been designed specifically to improve management practices focusing on aviation security,” said Dr Abdulla Al Hashimi, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Group Security.

The collaboration between ICAO, AACO and CASS is aimed at improving educational and professional development opportunities for the industry at a local, regional and international level.

Mr Abdul Wahab Teffaha, Secretary General of AACO commented: "At the end of the AVSEC PM Course, which we ran jointly with Emirates, ICAO and Concordia University, I wish to thank the Centre of Aviation and Security Studies of Emirates Group for hosting this course and extend a personal word of appreciation to Dr. Abdullah Al Hashimi, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Group Security, for making this event possible."

Mr Teffaha added, "This course has attracted a large number of Aviation Security professionals and sought increased awareness and knowledge of the latest best practices and state of the art tools in the aviation security domain. This type of cooperation with Emirates, ICAO and Concordia University is only at the starting line and I am sure with the support of a leading company like Emirates, this cooperation will only grow bigger."
