Matthew Vaughan is the Director of Aviation Security at IATA. Previously, he worked for Etihad Airways for over 8 years, 5 of them as the Head of Aviation Security. In IATA he is focusing on the promotion of baseline compliance to Aviation Security standards and recommended practices as well as leveraging an all-hazards, risk-based approach through strategic threat analysis and business continuity planning in a high threat, high reliability industry.

Former A350 chief Airworthiness Engineer, Jean-Claude Nanche has certified the A350 in Europe, US and more than 10 countries before taking the position of head of Aircraft security for Airbus commercial aircraft. The Airbus Security Centre of competence is managing both physical and cyber security for Airbus commercial Aircraft.

In 1996 Philip established Green Light, through which he serves as a subject matter expert for the Airports Council International (ACI) in the area of Behavioural Analysis and runs training courses for them. Likewise, Philip designs and delivers IATA Inflight Security courses and has worked with IATA on the way behavioural analysis might be incorporated into (what was originally called) the ‘Checkpoint of the Future’, the pre-cursor to ‘Smart Security’.

Sir Gary is a strategic consultant and non-executive director operating in the defence, aerospace and security sectors. In addition to his commercial roles, Sir Gary is the Deputy Colonel Commandant of the AAC, President of the AAC Veterans' Association and Air OP Association, a trustee of the Duke of York’s Royal Military School and Chairman of the Army Flying Museum.

Dr. Miller is a board executive and consultant with more than 20 years' experience in technology, engineering strategy, and execution. He has served in senior executive capacity across the private sector and consults at board and high decision- making government execution level.

Gary Wade is responsible for Global Security at Atlas Air Worldwide. Prior to coming to Atlas, Mr. Wade served as the Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Air Marshal Service at Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport. Previously, he was a Special Agent for the Drug Enforcement Administration for over 30 years, assigned to offices in Detroit, Miami, Washington, D.C. and Quantico, VA.

Steve van Aperen is Australia’s foremost lie detection and behavioural interviewing expert. Steve, whilst a Victorian police officer with 14 years policing experience, also examined polygraph and behavioural interviewing techniques used by the FBI, US Secret Service and LAPD. Throughout the years Steve has been consulted by intelligence agencies, the media, police departments, Homicide Squads, Government departments and corporations to teach staff how detect deception, read body language and profiling techniques using his unique 60 second profiling technique during the screening process.

She was an attorney at PayPal, where she helped the Large Merchant Services team achieved ubiquity. Prior to PayPal, she was at Cisco, eBay, Samsung and Apple. She co-founded a blockchain payments startup in 2015 and is a strategic advisor to a number of AI, blockchain and 3D printing companies. She is also a mentor for Singularity University Ventures, Berkeley Blockchain Accelerator, SVI Academy and Hack Temple, which are tech incubators located in the United States.

Andrew spent 12 years in the Royal Navy, 6 with UK Special Forces, which included operational tours in all major conflict regions. After military service, Andrew led the maritime and oil and gas divisions for the largest provider of maritime security in the industry. Andrew also founded Osprey Flight Solutions - now IATA’s partner for open source risk management data - with the aim of driving a quantum shift in the capabilities available to the industry for risk management.

Mr. Chau served in the Hong Kong Police from 1970 to 2004 and specialized in operational duties, criminal investigation and national security. In the 80's he was seconded to Interpol General Secretariat in Paris, France. Later, Mr. Chau was the head of the Aviation Security Company Ltd. which was responsible for aviation security at the Hong Kong International Airport. Currently, he is the Director of Starfire Technology (AI & IOT) Group Ltd. in Hong Kong.

Kim Ann is a member of the Wales Anti Slavery Leadership Group and is the Strategic Objectives Programme Lead. Kim Ann collaborates with Council of Europe GRETA Experts and ICMPD to share the good practice she has developed in Wales. In the Queens Birthday Honours 2018 Kim Ann was made a Member of the British Empire for her contribution to Law and Order for combatting modern slavery, human trafficking and Female Genital Mutilation.

Mike Horne BEng CEng FIET is General Manager of Latecoere Interconnection Systems UK LTD. He has worked extensively in video camera systems for a wide variety of purposes from missile guidance and fire control, to pipe inspection and commercial security. Former working group chair for the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE), he is now working to develop the first UK subsidiary of the major French aerospace company.

Richard Davis is the longest serving head of airline security in the U.S. and the world and one of only 9 heads of security that are members of both the prestigious OSAC and DSAC Leadership Board councils sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and FBI/DHS respectively. He is very engaged in the United Airlines Leadership Competencies and extremely respected in the aviation security community, chief security officer population and throughout the federal government.

Dr David Rubens DSyRM, CSyP, F.ISRM, FSyI is CEO of Deltar Training Services Ltd, and Executive Director of the Institute of Strategic Risk Management. He currently runs training programmes for strategic risk and crisis managers around the world, delivering training in seventeen countries in SE Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Europe since January 2017.

Dave Brooks, PhD, MSc, BSc, is the Graduate Security Science Coordinator at Edith Cowan University (ECU). After serving in Military Air Defence, Dave moved into Electronic Security and Consultancy, prior to his current academic role. For the past 17 years, Dave has undertaken research and teaching in ECU’s Security Science program, with a focus on corporate security, security design and defeat evaluation, and more recently with Intelligent Building systems.

Greg Peckinpaugh is Chief Security Officer for Addison Global who served as a Special Agent with the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration up until April of 2019. His primary focus was in the interdiction aspect and movement of illegal narcotics and currency. He is also a Senior Instructor Development Certified Instructor and has instructed classes all over the world.

Hany is an aviation professional who brings over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, progressively holding executive leadership positions in various airlines, ICAO, and MedAire, an international SOS company. Hany led and navigated various aviation businesses in over 120 countries through some of the most dynamic environments in the world. He has previously held executive positions in airline operations, safety, quality, security, risk management and at the UN specialised agency ICAO.

Army Officer having 34 years of service, an ICAO Certified Aviation Security Professional Manager with varied experience in handling of Internal Security issues related to counter terrorism. Presently is serving as Deputy Director General, Airports Security Force, Pakistan. Previously he was a Military Observer in United Nation Mission in East Timor and UN Peace Keeping Mission in Congo, Chief of Staff at different Military Headquarters and Deputy Military Secretary to President of Pakistan.

Sarah Clifford is a senior manager with 19 years’ experience within Immigration New Zealand (INZ). During her tenure, Sarah has held a variety of leadership and operational roles both in New Zealand as well as diplomatic secondments to Vietnam and the Philippines. Currently based in Christchurch, Sarah has been directly involved in leading the INZ response to the Christchurch Mosque attacks on 15 March 2019.

Glenn is the Chief Executive and Managing Director of Sapien Cyber with diverse experience in engineering, cyber security and Information Communications Technology (ICT) including project & technical management within Oil & Gas, mining, heavy vehicle manufacturing, defence (Electronic Warfare) and telecommunication industries. Previously as Chief Technology Officer for Sapien, Glenn delivered Sapien’s technical platform.

SSA Gates has been with the FBI since 2003 and he has been assigned to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for most of his career. He is considered one of the FBI’s subject matter experts on aviation crime and airport operations, and often provides training and guidance to FBI agents assigned to airports across the United States. SSA Gates has responded to hundreds of crimes on board aircraft and arrested hundreds of offenders in his time at LAX.

With 13+ years of training experience and nearly two decades in the security services sector, Bryce Jacobs-Shannon is a passionate expert in the training and development of explosive detection canine services. As the K-9 Program Manager at Transguard Group, Bryce is responsible for training not only staff and animals, but also for developing and monitoring the training programs and their progress. Bryce previously worked throughout Iraq and Afghanistan in support of the U.S. military and government operations as a Canine Handler and Canine Trainer.

Having over 2 decades of leadership experience in background in IT & cyber security as well as Information Risk Management, Thomas sees himself not like a traditional CISO but considers himself as pragmatic in implementing cyber security for IT, OT and IOT. As a Corporate IT/Cyber Security specialist with substantial regulatory experience, he is dedicated ensuring balanced IT risk versus IT compliance needs as for example in PCI/DSS, SOX and data privacy (e.g. EU GDPR) regulations.

Baroness Vere of Norbiton was appointed as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport in April 2019. She was previously a Government Whip (Baroness in Waiting) from December 2016 to uly 2019. Before entering politics, Charlotte spent 4 years as the Executive Director of the Girls’ Schools Association, including 6 months as the General Secretary of the Independent Schools Council. Prior to that she was the CEO of Big White Wall, an online mental health service, and Finance Director at Recruit Media.

During her career, Gill has responded to several aviation incidents and fatal accidents, including the Eyjafjallajökull volcanic Ash disruption; assisting with the Afriqiyah Airways Flight 771 fatal accident in Tripoli, Libya; managing the Telephone Enquiry Centre response for the FlyDubai Flight 981 fatal accident in Rostov, Russia as well as having an integral role in the Emirates EK521 response in 2016 at Dubai International Airport. As part of her role as Chair of the IATA Emergency Planning Task Force from 2010 – 2014, she contributed to the 2013 release of the ICAO Policy on Assistance to Aircraft Accident Victims and their Families.

Mr. Koh leads a global team of public safety scientists, experts and business architects in Huawei that engages top public safety agencies globally to help them with high level ICT design to better counter evolving threats. Outside his work in Huawei, Mr. Koh is a Vice President of the Society for the Policing of Cyberspace (POLCYB). He is also on the expert panel of the Geneva based Global Initiative Against Transnational Organized Crime.

Prior to joining IATA, he worked for Virgin Atlantic Airways in the UK for 25 years as cabin crew, purser, safety instructor and eventually Cabin Safety Procedures Officer, where he spent time writing crew manuals, training cabin crew, promoting SMS and providing safety input into various innovative cabin equipment, service and design projects. Part of his current role at IATA is to regularly review all reports of unruly passenger behavior received from airlines submitting data to the IATA STEADES program, to provide annual analysis to support IATA’s advocacy initiatives in ratification of the Montreal Protocol 2014.

Espen Gylvik is the CEO of Cyviz, with a long track record in the IT & Telecom industry with leading positions in Microsoft and Netcom. Most recently the CEO of UMS, an Everbridge company, providing public warning systems across the globe, he brings experience from public safety and security to the control room.

Anas Hawari has worked closely with security intense industries, helping them to deploy modern and secure solutions for collaboration and visualization. Working with some of the most demanding organizations in the Middle East, identifying needs and pain points, and scope the solution to deliver future-proof control rooms and operations centres.

Reema Al Marzooqi leads the Investigations Unit which controls all the fraudulent activities and criminal acts against the airline within the network. She is a member of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Previously Reema worked as a Senior Client Relations Executive and Human Resources Manager. Thereafter she was transferred to the Commercial Department and assigned to be in charge of multiple stations such as Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain and Greece. She is one of the few female UAE Nationals to be chosen as Country Manager in Europe.

Aleksandar is part of Group Security’s Aircrew Training Unit, responsible for AVSEC training of Flight and Cabin Crew. He is from Serbia and before joining Emirates Airlines he was completing his studies in Arabic Language and Literature at Belgrade University. Areas of particular interest to Aleksandar include management of unruly passengers in aviation, fight against human trafficking and international relations. Aleksandar has been a part of Emirates Airline since 2005.
